We harvest trees, plants and crops
to maintain our body.
Found in the web of life are
the moving and the non-moving
with the varying degree of sensitivity.
How can we atone
the killing of plants for our survival?
That’s why Kudala-sanga’s Sharanas,
offer food first to Shiva
and then have the food as his prasada, gift.

Insight

Offering to Shiva is symbolic. I’m part of the web of life where living and non-living, big or small, which sustain me. This web of life is Shiva. This web of life, Shiva, gives me food to eat and survive. So, I thank the web of life, Shiva, for the food given to me and have the food with a sense of gratitude as Shiva’s Prasada, gift with blessings.

I’m a part of web of life. This web of life is the manifestation of Shiva. I’ve no individual existence.

Mara gida balli dhaanyangala belesellava tari-taridu
praanava kondundu, shareerava horeva doashakke

Ondindriya modalaagi aidindriya kadeyaada
Jeeva-jaaladallide charaacharavellaa.
Adu kaarana,  Koodala-sangana sharanaru
Lingakkarpisi prassadava kondu

100. ಜೀವಜಾಲ

ಮರ ಗಿಡ ಬಳ್ಳಿ ಧಾನ್ಯಂಗಳ ಬೆಳೆಸೆಲ್ಲವ ತರಿತರಿದು
ಪ್ರಾಣವ ಕೊಂದುಂಡು, ಶರೀರವ ಹೊರೆವ ದೋಷಕ್ಕೆ
ಇನ್ನಾವುದು ವಿಧಿಯಯ್ಯಾ?
ಒಂದಿಂದ್ರಿಯ ಮೊದಲಾಗಿ ಐದಿಂದ್ರಿಯ ಕಡೆಯಾದ
ಜೀವಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿದೆ ಚರಾಚರವೆಲ್ಲಾ.
ಅದು ಕಾರಣ ಕೂಡಲಸಂಗನ ಶರಣರು ಲಿಂಗಕ್ಕರ್ಪಿಸಿ
ಪ್ರಸಾದವ ಕೊಂಡು ನಿರ್ದೋಷಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಬದುಕಿದರು.
